Seeking Registered Nurses to join our team in various departments! The RN will provide nursing care to all patients in the respective unit, demonstrating the ability to triage assess patients needs to ensure adequate care and nursing standards are met, observes and initiates appropriate nursing treatments, and reports symptoms and conditions of patients to medical staff. In addition, the RN will perform tasks such as assisting with invasive procedures, administering medications, documenting, and assisting other staff members on the team.  
What You'll Need:   
  • At minimum, Associates degree in nursing. However, BSN is preferred.  
  • Current Colorado Registered Nurse license  
  • At minimum, current AHA BLS Certification
  • RN's in ER, ICU and OB require additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, etc.
What You'll Do: 
  • Assisting, planning, implementing and evaluating the delivery of care to accepted nursing and hospital standards  
  • Administering prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.  
  • Maintaining awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient.  
  • Observing patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.  
  • Responding to all situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.  
  • Documenting nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients.

San Luis Valley Health is seeking a full-time Ultrasound Tech to join our Radiology team! San Luis Valley Health offers competitive pay and benefits and is located in South Central Colorado in a great community offering terrain for golfing, camping, hiking, fishing in addition to being within 30 miles from the Great Sand Dunes National Park and 90 minutes away from popular ski resorts.  Qualified candidate will be certified in Ultrasound.

What You'll Need:

  • A two year Allied health degree
  • Completion of an AMA approved school of Ultrasound Technology (or equivalent years of experience)
  • Graduation from an AMA approved school of Ultrasound Technology
  • 3 to 6 months of on the job training is preferred.
  • Must obtain ARDMS certification in physics and one specialty within 12 months of employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. 

What You'll Do:

  • Assist physicians with biopsy procedures, guiding biopsy instrument using sonographic techniques.  Perform ultrasound procedures, Doppler vascular examinations, abdominal studies and color-flow ultrasound, OB-/GYN procedures as required.
  • Utilize accessory equipment such as selective transducers, multi-format cameras, printers, and PACS workstations.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, explain procedures to patients.  Report changes in patient condition to medical staff.  Provide an oral and written summary of preliminary findings to the radiologist.
  • Archive and De-archive ultrasound data.
  • Collaborate in quality control of equipment and filming and obtains service as required.  Proficient in the performance of ultrasound procedures.  Provide direction and instruction to existing personnel and training to new sonographers.
  • Ensure correct charging of ultrasound procedures and supplies on a daily basis.
  • Records pertinent data on radiologic requisition/PACS at all times. (Physician’s name, date, explanation for limited examinations, contrast info, etc.)
  • Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examination to PACS, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure

What you’ll need:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification prior to date of hire. 
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required prior to hire.
  • Recommended ITLS certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Must possess IV certification upon hire. 
  • Must possess knowledge of and ability to apply emergency medical theory, practicies, techniques and methods.
  • Must have the visual and auditory ability to assess patient conditions in order to administer effective care using standard ER procedures. 
  • Must have the ability to verbally communicate and problem solve effectively with patient, staff, physicians and families 
  • Must have manual dexterity to perform such functions as drawing up and administering injections, inserting catheters, starting and administering IV solutions and performing BLS, ACLS and PALS. 
  • Must have the physical agility to respond in a quick manner and in accordance with established facility practice regarding unexpected safety issues. 
  • May be required to assist with lifting and transferring of patients. 

 

What you’ll do:  

  • Provides patient care to emergency department patients in accordance with established policies and procedures and within scope of practice. 
  • Admits patients to the emergency department, assesses needs, identifies problems, plans and implements emergency care, establishes priorities of care and evaluates care provided. 
  • Carries out physician orders, reviews patient medication records, prepares, administers, and records medications and IV solutions. Starts and discontinues IV’s. 
  • Observes patient condition and vital signs; evaluates findings and records observation in the record; notifies physician of any adverse or abnormal findings in a timely manner; administers routine, scheduled and emergency treatments according to physician’s orders. 
  • Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment and examination of patients. 
  • Reviews and completes records and forms to ensure continuity and quality of patient care. 
  • Responds to all situations based upon hospital standards, policies, procedures and protocol. 
  • Responsible with assisting the Assistant Director of Nursing or Unit Based Educator for teaching personnel in the area of new techniques and changes in policy. 
  • Knowledgeable in the scope of care of EMS, Paramedics, Registered Nurses, etc.

  • POSITION PURPOSE: 
    • Assists with the surgical care of the patient in the operating room. Duties include, but are not exclusive of stocking, pulling cases for the next day, pulling instruments, cleaning OR after cases, replenishing and preparation of surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment. Functions as a member of the surgical team by assisting and anticipating needs of the surgeon. Maintains current education in aseptic technique, routine operating room procedures, and all other duties as assigned.
  • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 
    • Scrub person functions with working knowledge of aseptic technique and AORN Standards.
    • Checks all items for proper packaging, processing, moisture, seal and packaging integrity, sterile indicator if present, and expiration dates.
    • Maintains sterile integrity of all items and fluids introduced onto the field.
    • Monitors sterile field for events that may contaminate field and corrective action initiated.
    • When moving within or around a sterile field does so in a manner to maintain the integrity of the sterile field.
    • Prior to use, all equipment is visually checked for fraying of cords and plugs or other damage.
    • When turning on machine, confirms self-test pattern as necessary.
    • Anticipates need for equipment and supplies as evidenced by no delays in procedures.
    • Knows the order in use of material and supplies.
    • Reports changes in temperature of room to appropriate person.
    • Perceptive to patient’s sensory environment.
    • Monitors, evaluates and revised preference cards.
    • Contributes to the individualized, ongoing delivery of care within the scope of practice.
    • Maintains flexibility and appropriate response to changes in priorities, established plans, goals or time frames.
    • Supports the decisions and actions of the Manager or Charge Nurse. Respects others.
    • Participates in departmental QI program including confidential occurrence reporting.
    • Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
    • Experience:
      • Preferred, one year of Operating Room experience working as an OR technician in a hospital setting.
    • License(s):
      • Licensed in the state of Colorado as a Surgical Technician required
    • Certification(s):
        • Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association (AHA) required
        • Certification from ASTI (Association of Surgical Technologists, Inc.) preferred.
    • Computer / Typing:
      • Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
